The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is a professional society for those involved with engineering electronics and related disciplines. The student branch of IEEE here at the University of Tennessee serves the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science students. UT has had an electrical engineering student society for 85 years (click here for student branch history). The UT section is part of the East TN section. Getting involved is easy! News from SoutheastCon 2008

Members of the Vol-Tron SoutheastCon team returned from Huntsville, Alabama after great efforts in the conference. All participants did very well, and our ethics team (Nick Jones, Olumide Aluko, and Ben Hardy) took home third place in their competition- congratulations! Thanks again to all our sponsors.

East TN Section EPRI Tour

The IEEE East Tennessee Section will hold a meeting at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) on May 8, 2008 which will include a presentation of EPRI's research activities by EPRI Manager Mark Stephens. A tour of the facility will follow Mark's presentation.

A Fajita buffet catered by Moe's Southwest Grill will be provided free to IEEE members and students. Non-members will be charged $20.
